What happens if you don’t have the stone I’m after?
Let us know your requirements, whether it’s a specific stone or just a ‘look’ you are after. We always have new stock arriving. We are linked to many quarries worldwide, so for special materials we can enquire with our suppliers, or point you in the right direction.
Do you only sell wholesale, or can I buy stone directly from you?
Yes, you can buy direct, but before doing so we ask that you have a fully qualified stonemason lined up for fabrication. Due to the nature of our product natural stone needs to be handled carefully by skilled professionals.
Are the photos on your website the same as your stock?
Sometimes, yes, sometimes no. While we update our website photos regularly, with natural stone it is normal for the look and feel to change from bundle to bundle. Always best to contact us and we can confirm by sending you a high resolution scans or making an appointment for viewing.
Can I select a stone slab straight from your website?
Checking out our online product catalogue is a great start, once your order has been confirmed, our sale support team will email you a high resolution scan to confirm your product, and also you can book a time to come to our showroom inspected in person – especially for natural stone. With photos, there is usually some variation in colour, usually due to screen displays and lighting.
Where do you source stone slabs from?
Our stone is sourced all over the world. We have strong relationships with stone quarries across Europe, Asia and Africa.
Can I pick exactly what slab I want?
Because of the weight and the slabs being bundled in stacks of multiple slabs, it is not safe to do so. Slabs are stored in bundles. However, the front-facing slab which is the one you’ll see on display, is fully representative of the slabs behind it. We sell our slabs consecutively, as the majority are produced as book-matched. This means that usually, we cannot break up the sequence. For special circumstances, you can ask us.
Do I have to make an appointment to view your slabs?
Our warehouse is based in Rydalmere, Sydney. We are open to the public. It is preferable that you ring or email to arrange an appointment. For your safety, we also can’t have customers in the warehouse while we are unloading stone.
How do I determine the number of slabs that I need?
If you let us know your size requirements and/or show us your kitchen plans, we can provide you with an estimate of what we think you will need. The final word will always come from your fabricator, as they will be cutting the job. It is always best to talk to your fabricator in the first instance.
Can I have a sample?
You can request a sample, but they are always subject to availability. Sample packs available to order online.
What do I do next after selecting a slab of stone for my project?
Once you've selected your preferred slab of stone, share all relevant information with your stone mason or builder to get an installation quote. They will help you determine the required order quantity. After the order is fulfilled, we will coordinate with your stone mason to arrange collection from our warehouse, and they will oversee the installation of your project.
Can you give me a quote for my benchtop?
We are able to provide rough quotes based on material only. We sell stone by the slab , so masonry/labor costs will always be additional. Quotes on final jobs should always come from a stonemason or fabrication company. We are not able to provide quotes on final jobs
I have a small project, do you cut to size?
No, we only sell stone in large format slabs. We do not have the facilities to cut in our warehouse. We also do not have offcuts. To buy our stone you are required to buy minimum one whole slab.
How is delivery arranged?
Delivery is usually arranged by buyer’s stone mason. Due to each panel being approx 300kg and requiring specialised truck to transport.
Do you arrange the fabrication and stonemasonry?
We don’t arrange the fabrication or tell you which stonemason to go to, but we have recommendations based on your requirements and location.
What finishes do your stone slabs come in?
Polished, honed or leathered. Polished slabs are reflective, shiny and glossy with deep and pronounced colours. Honed is ground back, giving more of a matte finish. A leathered finish is really unique over stone slabs with patterns, bringing out the depth and incredible texture – literally like leather.
What does it mean to be book-matched?
To match two or more stone slabs together so that the two adjoining surfaces mirror each other. This is especially beneficial with splashbacks or benchtops with waterfall edges, as you can ensure the grains are matched.
Does the pattern, veining, and color of the slabs change from one slab to another within the same lot?
Yes, it is normal for the veining and colour to vary from one slab to the next, as stone is a natural product. In saying that, our slabs are sold in sequence so the variation from one slab to the next is minimal.
How long can I put my stone slab on hold for?
Depending on the demand of the stone at the time. To secure a stone, we require full payment. Once received, we can hold your stone for up to three months, depending on the demand. Generally, it is a case by case basis.
Can I put a stone on hold while I make a decision?
For sales direct to the public, we usually are not able to hold slabs for longer than a week without an order. If you are an industry professional, we can hold slabs without an order for a short time depending on demand. To secure slabs upon order we require full payment. We sell slabs on a first come first serve basis.
Can I request particular stone in for a project?
We can try and help out as much as possible. We have connections to many quarries worldwide, so please feel free to ask. Arranging containers direct if necessary can be possible. Minimum quantities apply.
How often do I have to seal my stone?
We strongly recommend sealing your stone after installation and resealed every 1-2 years (depending on application). It is important that it has a thorough clean before any seal. Unsealed marble stains easier, so the process buys you time if you have an accident.
Is it easier to stain honed slabs?
A polished finish acts as protective layer against stains. Honing essentially grinds off the polish, so naturally the pores open up. After installation, your fabricator will usually apply a penetrating sealer to help to fill in some of the open pores and gaps, leaving you with more time to clean any spills.
Can I use marble for my bathroom vanity or bathtub?
As long as the marble is sealed, it is a very popular choice for the bathroom with its soft and light-coloured patterns. However, if use in wet areas, we strongly recommend sealing all sides before installation by your stone mason.
What happens if my stone gets damaged after purchasing from you?
Once the stone slab is out the door, we no longer hold liability for it. We see to it that the driver of the delivery company being used signs a ‘Declaration of Goods Received’ form. From then on it is in the safe hands of them and your stonemason. It is important to work with fully skilled professionals from the start to the end.
Should I choose polished or honed marble? What is the difference?
Polished marble has a glossy, shiny look. Honed is ground back, to a matte-like finish. Honed is very popular with marble as people worry about dulling their polish. With exposure to acidic food and drink, the polish protects the actual stone, but the polish itself will be eaten away at leaving etches and dull patches. This is why many people choose honed marble. In saying this, honed marble has no natural protective layer, so a penetrative sealer needs to be used. In general, marble should be sealed every 1-2 years regardless of the finish.
I have found a stone I love but I don’t need it for 1+ years, what should I do?
You are able to purchase the slabs now. Depending on quantity we may be able to hold them for you, or point you in the right direction.
