Proper care and maintenance of all surfaces are essential to preserving their natural beauty and durability.
It is strongly recommended to have all cleaning and sealing performed by a professional stone mason, and to follow the recommended care and maintenance instructions.
Sealing is strongly recommended for both natural marble and terrazzo. As both materials are porous and can be sensitive to acidic substances, it’s important to apply a high-quality sealer after installation and reapply periodically (depending on usage) to protect your surfaces.
Please note, sealer gives you time to respond and time to clean up spills or accidents, it doesn’t protect your surfaces indefinitely.
Without sealer, your surfaces will stain automatically
With sealer, you will have time to respond, clean up spills and carry on with what you’re doing
FILA products, a global leader in surface care solutions will be available on Pure Marble. Based in Italy, they specialise in sealing, protecting and maintaining a range of surfaces.
Sealing
Sealing will help preserve your surface appearances as well as provide a protective barrier. For both natural marble and terrazzo, we recommend below for best results:
1) Start with 1 coat of HYDROREP Sealer
*The surface can be walked on after 4 hours, the water repellent effect starts after 24 hours
*Slightly smaller molecule compared to MP90, thus it penetrates deeper
2) Finish off with 1 coat of MP90 Sealer
*Certified food safe
*Solvent-based, clear stain protector
Cleaning
Every material, including engineered stone, requires proper care and attention. If spills are left unattended or rusty objects left on the benchtop, damage such as stains and etching will occur.
For routine cleaning, always use a pH-neutral cleaner that is specifically designed for the type of surface you have.
Fila CLEANER PRO gently cleans all types of surfaces without affecting treated and delicate surfaces. Available in 1l and 5l sizes.
Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers, and acidic cleaners like vinegar, as these can etch the surface.
